Screenings FAQ
You can host an in-person screening in theaters, community centers, places of worship, libraries, academic institutions, or any venue that can accommodate your audience.
We will provide promotional materials. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to reserve the location and promote the event.
You can also organize a virtual screening and invite your community to participate online at a specific time. You can make this event more powerful by adding time for conversations, Q&A, and dialogues. The directors and/or main film character(s) are available to be part of these virtual events for an extra fee.
For in-person community screenings: once the booking is complete, you will be able to download the film 72 hours before the event’s starting time and screen it without the need for an internet connection. Please note this system is not compatible with Linux OS.
If you are hosting your screening at a cinema or theatre and require the film in DCP format or another format, please contact us on [email protected].
For virtual screenings: your audience will watch the film together in a synchronized stream, with the option to live text chat and hear from you directly in a live video broadcast. Each guest will need to register for a ticket via the screening event page that will be created upon booking.
To host a hybrid screening, you will need to book two separate screenings—one for the in-person event and one for the virtual event. Even if they happen simultaneously with the same host, each audience will be accessing the film differently, so two event pages are necessary.
If you’re paying the upfront licensing fee, you will only pay it once, which covers both events and your total audience size. Be sure to contact Kinema on [email protected] before booking the second event so they can waive the fee for that screening.
The cost to host a screening depends on the format you choose and the size of your audience, starting as low as $1 per person attending.
- For virtual screenings or in-person community screenings (using a computer and projector/screen setup), you have two choices:
- You can sell tickets through Kinema. The ticket revenue will be split 45/45/10 meaning you will keep 45% of the ticket price, we keep 45% and the platform keeps 10%. There is no upfront cost. This is a popular choice for fundraising events.
- Or you can handle ticket sales independently (or offer the event for free). You will need to pay an upfront licensing fee which starts at USD 50 for up to 25 guests for non-profit and faith-based organizations.
- For cinema screenings with DCP files: We will provide a virtual DCP file for download. The upfront licensing fee starts at USD 200, depending on the number of attendees.
Reciprocity is a fundamental value that guides this entire project. We recognize that these stories are not ours to take but rather gifts to be honored. Therefore, we have made a commitment that half of all proceeds from The Eternal Song will be returned directly to the communities who shared their stories and generational wisdom with us.
These funds will support community-led initiatives, cultural preservation efforts, and projects that advance the visions and priorities of each participating Indigenous group. This financial commitment is just one aspect of our approach to reciprocity.
We have also:
- Involved community members in the editing process to ensure accurate representation
- Established ongoing relationships beyond the film’s completion
- Provided film equipment to some of the communities to continue recording their stories
- Committed to using our platform to amplify Indigenous voices and causes
This reciprocal relationship reflects the very wisdom the film seeks to share—that true healing comes through honoring our interconnectedness and mutual responsibilities to one another.

Book Your Screening
We have partnered with Kinema, a global platform dedicated to supporting independent films and community screenings. Kinema provides ticketing, an event page, and an offline cinema player for easy hosting using a computer and projector/screen setup. Please not this system is not compatible with Linux OS.
If you are hosting your screening at a cinema or theater and require the film in DCP format or another format, please contact us on [email protected].How to Book Your Screening:
- Click the button below to go to Kinema’s booking page.
- Select “Create Screening Event” and follow the steps to set up your event.
- Choose how you want to host your screening:
- Sell tickets through Kinema: No upfront fee. Revenue is split 45% to you, 45% to the filmmakers, and 10% to Kinema. Many hosts use this method for fundraising as there’s no upfront cost involved.
- Offer the screening for free or sell tickets independently: A one-time licensing fee applies. If you are using a different platform to sell tickets, make sure your event is set to private rather than public, to prevent people from registering for free through Kinema.
- Wait for Kinema’s approval: It can take up to 2 business days, so plan ahead.
- Once approved, your event page will be created: Guests will register for tickets via that page.
- Access screening resources: In Kinema, you will find posters, stills from the film, the companion workbook in PDF format, and other promotional materials.
- Receive the film: The film will be available to download from Kinema 72 hours before your event for testing.
We will add your event to our screenings list on our website unless it is a private event.
